Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) at 95°C for 45 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes before staining.

Prolactin (PRL) is a pituitary hormone involved in milk production, salt and water regulation, growth, development, and reproduction.
PRL acts through binding to the transmembrane prolactin receptor (PRLR), a member of the cytokine receptor family.
PRLR exists in multiple isoforms (short and long forms) ranging from ~40 kDa to 100 kDa depending on tissue and species.
It consists of three main domains:
- Extracellular region with five cysteines containing the prolactin binding site
- Single transmembrane domain
- Cytoplasmic region that influences ligand binding and regulates cellular function
