Product Specific Information
MA1-4997 detects Fc epsilonR1 alpha from human samples.
The CRA1 (AER37) monoclonal antibody reacts with the Fc epsilonR1 alpha subunit on a region that does not overlap the IgE binding site, thus it does not compete with IgE for receptor binding.
MA1-4997 has been successfully used in Western blot, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry (paraffin, frozen) applications.
The MA1-4997 immunogen corresponds to a region of Fc epsilonR1 alpha that does not overlap with the IgE binding site.
The epitope has been mapped to amino acids 26–110.
Target Information
FcεR1 (Fc epsilonR1 alpha) is a subunit of the high-affinity receptor for IgE.
FcεR1 alpha is part of a tetrameric complex consisting of one alpha, one beta, and two gamma subunits, which are required for signal transduction.
This receptor complex plays a key role in triggering allergic responses. When allergen-bound IgE molecules bring together multiple high-affinity IgE receptors, mediators such as histamine are released, causing allergy symptoms.
FcεR1 couples allergens and mast cells to initiate inflammatory responses characteristic of disorders like hay fever and asthma.
The release of histamine and proteases leads to the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, potent effectors of hypersensitivity responses.
