Target Information
Ubiquitin은 세포 단백질을 26S proteasome을 통해 분해하도록 표적화하는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 고도로 보존된 단백질입니다.
이 유전자는 N말단의 Ubiquitin과 C말단의 ribosomal protein S27a로 구성된 융합 단백질을 암호화합니다.
발현 후, 단백질은 번역 후 처리되어 자유로운 Ubiquitin 단량체와 ribosomal protein S27a를 생성합니다.
Ribosomal protein S27a는 40S 리보솜 소단위의 구성 요소로, C4-type zinc finger 도메인을 포함하며 세포질에 위치합니다.
이 유전자로부터 유래한 pseudogene이 존재하며, ribosomal protein L40과 S30 역시 Ubiquitin 또는 Ubiquitin-like 단백질과 융합된 형태로 합성됩니다.
여러 가지 alternative splicing 변이가 보고되었으며, 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
