Target Information
The ring finger protein RC3H1, also known as Roquin, is a highly conserved member of the RING-type ubiquitin ligase protein family. Mutation M199R leads to excessive production of follicular helper T cells and germinal centers in the sanroque strain of mice, which exhibit high IL-21 levels and autoantibody titers. Complete loss of RC3H1 causes early death and immune deregulation but not autoimmunity, suggesting that the mutant form is more disruptive to immune function than its absence.
