Target Information
TIP5 (BAZ2A) is the large subunit of the nucleolar remodeling complex (NoRC), responsible for repression of ribosomal gene transcription.
Histone deacetylation is involved in this repression, and TIP5 associates with histone deacetylase HDAC1 to mediate histone deacetylation near the rDNA promoter.
The interaction between TIP5 and HDAC1, essential for transcriptional repression, is mediated by the C-terminal PHD finger and bromodomain.
