Target Information
Interferons are widely used therapeutic agents due to their antitumor, antiviral, and immune-modulatory effects. These cytokines exert their function by binding to the Type I Interferon Receptor (IFNAR1). Downregulation of this receptor influences the magnitude and duration of cytokine signaling and is thought to be affected by phosphorylation at Serine 535 and 539 (Kumar et al., 2003).
