Target Information
NF-kB is a nuclear transcription factor activated by various stimuli such as cytokines, UV radiation, stress, injury, and microbial products. It regulates cellular events including growth, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and inflammation.
NFKB1 (p50) is a 50 kDa functional subunit of NF-kB, synthesized as a p105 precursor protein containing conserved RHD domains for nuclear localization, DNA binding, and dimerization.
NFKB1 (p50) forms homodimers or heterodimers with p65 to create active NF-kB complexes that translocate to the nucleus and bind DNA.
NF-kB has been implicated in pathological conditions such as AIDS, hematogenic cancer metastasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
