Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Muscle myosin is a hexameric protein composed of two heavy chain subunits, two alkali light chain subunits, and two regulatory light chain subunits.
The MYH7 gene encodes the beta (or slow) heavy chain subunit of cardiac myosin, predominantly expressed in normal human ventricle and in skeletal muscle tissues rich in slow-twitch type I fibers.
Alterations in MYH7 expression correlate with cardiac contractile velocity and are influenced by thyroid hormone status and hemodynamic load.
Mutations in this gene are associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, myosin storage myopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, and Laing early-onset distal myopathy.
