Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
This gene encodes a type II transmembrane protein similar to core 1 beta1,3-galactosyltransferase 1, which catalyzes the synthesis of the core-1 structure (Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen) on O-linked glycans. Although this gene product lacks galactosyltransferase activity, it functions as a molecular chaperone required for the folding, stability, and full activity of core 1 beta1,3-galactosyltransferase 1. Mutations in this gene are associated with Tn syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
