This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the extracellular domain of human IL-21 Receptor.
PEP-0106 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-19982.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor for interleukin 21 (IL21). It belongs to the type I cytokine receptors and forms a heterodimeric receptor complex with the common gamma-chain, which is shared by the receptors for interleukin 2 (IL2) and interleukin 5 (IL5).
This receptor mediates IL21 signaling, promoting proliferation and differentiation of T cells, B cells, and natural killer (NK) cells. Ligand binding activates downstream signaling molecules such as JAK1, JAK3, STAT1, and STAT3.
Knockout studies in mice suggest its role in regulating immunoglobulin production. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been described.
