Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Slug is a member of the Snail family of C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors. It plays a role in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and neural tube formation during vertebrate embryogenesis. Slug transcription can be induced by growth factors such as FGF, BMP, and TGF-beta. Once expressed, Slug binds E-box regions of promoters and represses transcription of genes such as E-cadherin and Claudin-1. Its expression in breast, esophageal, and colorectal carcinomas has been correlated with poor prognosis. Slug also protects hematopoietic progenitor cells from radiation-induced apoptosis by repressing p53-mediated transcription of Puma, a BH3-only antagonist of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family members.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
