Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
PHLPP1 is a member of the serine/threonine phosphatase family, which regulates Akt serine-threonine kinases (AKT1, AKT2, AKT3) and protein kinase C (PKC) isoforms.
Both PHLPP1 and PHLPP2 share similar domain structures and dephosphorylate distinct Akt isoforms at Serine473, a key activation site.
- PHLPP2 acts on AKT1 and AKT3
- PHLPP1 is specific for AKT2 and AKT3
PHLPP1 promotes apoptosis and may function as a tumor suppressor. Increased expression of PHLPP1 has been linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes through interference with Akt-mediated insulin signaling.
