Target Information
Phosphothreonine is a phosphoamino acid, the phosphorylated ester of threonine. It is one of three amino acids typically phosphorylated in eukaryotes—serine, threonine, and tyrosine. Threonine residues in proteins undergo phosphorylation via threonine kinases. Small amounts of free phosphothreonine can be detected in urine.
Antibodies against phosphothreonine are useful for identifying phosphorylated peptides, proteins, and enzymes.
