Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a critical role in signal transduction from transmembrane receptors and in oncogenic transformation by tyrosine kinases. Phosphorylation of specific tyrosine residues is a key mechanism in normal mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and transformation, and continues to be investigated in differentiation and cell communication studies.
Antibodies recognizing phosphorylated tyrosine residues are essential tools for analyzing tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and related signaling pathways.
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical assays where secondary antibody use may interfere with detection.
