Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity-purified antibody is directed against the FLAG™ motif and is useful in determining its presence in various assays. This polyclonal anti-FLAG™ tag antibody detects overexpressed proteins containing the FLAG™ epitope tag. It has reacted with all amino-terminal FLAG™ tagged proteins tested to date. In western blotting of bacterial extracts, the antibody does not cross-react with endogenous proteins.

Target Information

DYKDDDDK tag, also known as FLAG tag, is a short peptide sequence commonly used as a protein tag to facilitate protein purification, detection, and localization. The tag consists of eight amino acids: Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys. It is often fused to the N- or C-terminus of a protein of interest, allowing for easy identification and isolation using anti-FLAG antibodies.

The DYKDDDDK tag is widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry research for applications such as protein-protein interaction studies, expression analysis, and localization studies. The FLAG tag structure is optimized for compatibility and hydrophilicity, minimizing potential denaturation or inactivation of fused proteins.
