Target Information
BACH1.3 is a transcription factor belonging to the cap’n’collar type of basic region leucine zipper (CNC-bZip) family. It contains BTB/POZ domains facilitating protein-protein interactions and oligomer formation. When forming a heterodimer with MafK, it represses transcription at Maf recognition elements (MARE). Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, and some exons overlap with those of the C21orf41 gene, transcribed in the opposite orientation but not encoding a protein.
