Product Specific Information

The UP-H2 monoclonal antibody recognizes human IREM-2 (immune receptor expressed in monocytic derived cells), also known as LMIR6, CD300E, or CD300LE. It is a 34 kDa immunoglobulin-like receptor belonging to the CMRF-35 family and functions as an activating receptor through ITAM-containing adaptor proteins such as DAP12.

Expression is found exclusively on monocytes and myeloid dendritic cells (DCs). Expression may decrease as monocytes differentiate, but is maintained on mature DCs. Cell lines such as THP-1 and U937 do not express IREM-2.

In vitro, addition of UP-H2 antibody (soluble or crosslinked) stimulates monocytes.

Target Information

CD300e is a glycoprotein family member expressed on myeloid cells. It interacts with TYRO protein tyrosine kinase-binding protein and acts as an activating receptor. CD300e is expressed on mature myeloid dendritic cells and monocytes, and downregulated on immature DCs. It also interacts with DAP-12, mediating activating signals. CD300e activation enhances alloreactive responses of naïve T cells. Dysfunctions are associated with conditions such as tungiasis and lice infestation.
