이 단백질은 555개의 아미노산으로 구성되며, 21개의 신호 펩타이드를 포함하고 분자량은 약 70–75 kDa입니다.
Perforin은 C9 단백질과 유사한 막관통성 채널 형성 메커니즘을 가지며, 주로 살상성 세포주에서 발현됩니다.
Perforin 유전자 결함은 가족성 혈구탐식성 림프조직구증 2형(HPLH2)과 관련이 있습니다.
