Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
6X HIS Epitope Tag ATTO 647N conjugated antibody is directed against the 6X His motif and is useful for detecting over-expressed proteins containing the 6X His epitope tag. It reacts with all tested His-tagged proteins and does not cross-react with endogenous bacterial proteins. Recognizes His-tag fused to either N- or C-termini of target proteins in transfected or transformed cells.
Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide consisting of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH). It is used as a fusion tag for recombinant proteins to facilitate purification by immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
His-tagged proteins bind strongly and selectively to Ni²⁺-NTA due to histidine’s metal-binding properties, enabling efficient purification.
His tag-specific antibodies allow for detection and immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins even when no specific antibody exists for the target protein.
