Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
CIB4 (calcium and integrin-binding family member 4) is a 185 amino acid protein containing three EF-hand domains. CIB4 is closely related to CIB, which has one fewer EF-hand domain and is known to bind Integrin alpha II beta in platelets, playing a role in signal transduction.
The CIB4 gene maps to human chromosome 2, which houses over 1,400 genes and comprises nearly 8% of the human genome.
Chromosome 2 is associated with several genetic disorders, including:
- Harlequin ichthyosis (mutations in ABCA12)
- Sitosterolemia (defects in ABCG5 and ABCG8)
- Alström syndrome (mutations in ALMS1)
