The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Dyneins are multi-subunit, high molecular weight ATPases that interact with microtubules to generate force by converting the chemical energy of ATP into mechanical energy of movement.
Cytoplasmic or axonemal dynein heavy, intermediate, light, and light-intermediate chains are all components of minus end-directed motors that transport cellular cargos toward the cell center.
Axonemal dynein motors contain one to three non-identical heavy chains and enable microtubule sliding in cilia and flagella, necessary for motility.
Cytoplasmic dynein is a ~12-subunit complex including two heavy chains, two intermediate chains (for cargo anchoring), four smaller intermediate chains, and several light chains. It is essential for organelle transport and centrosome assembly.
The carboxy-terminus of dynein is conserved and critical for microtubule-dependent motility, while the amino-terminal regions are more variable.
Regulatory proteins include Dynactin, LIS1, and nudel (nudE-like).
