Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The calcium binding protein (CaBP) family shares much similarity with calmodulin. CaBP proteins can substitute for and augment calmodulin function. These proteins are essential in calcium-mediated cellular signal transduction in the central nervous system.
CaBP1 and CaBP2 can be expressed as multiple, alternatively spliced variants in brain and retina, while CaBP3, CaBP4, and CaBP5 are restricted to retinal rod and cone cells.
