Target Information
BCL-XL은 BCL-2 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 조절에 관여하는 항- 또는 친-사멸 조절자로 작용합니다.
이 단백질은 외막 미토콘드리아 막에 위치하며, 미토콘드리아 막 전위 조절 및 세포 사멸 유도 인자인 reactive oxygen species와 cytochrome C의 방출을 조절합니다.
두 가지 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되었으며, 긴 형태는 세포 사멸 억제 인자로, 짧은 형태는 세포 사멸 촉진 인자로 작용합니다.
