NFkB 전사인자는 DNA 결합 서브유닛과 관련 단백질로 구성된 단백질 복합체로 처음 확인되었습니다. p50 서브유닛은 p105 전구체의 N-말단에서 유래한 단백질로 알려졌으며, 대체 DNA 결합 서브유닛을 암호화하는 cDNA가 분리되었습니다. p52 단백질은 다양한 세포 유형에서 발현되며, p105로부터 유래한 p50과 달리 p65와 시너지 작용을 통해 HIV enhancer를 활성화시킵니다.
