Target Information
Neuron specific enolase (NSE, ENO1, ENO2, ENO3)는 해당과정에서 2-phosphoglycerate를 phosphoenolpyruvate로 전환시키는 효소로, 신경세포 손상 시 세포외액 및 뇌척수액(CSF)으로 쉽게 확산됩니다.
NSE는 세 가지 포유류 enolase(α, β, γ) 중 하나로, γ-subunit은 주로 신경세포 및 신경내분비 세포에서 발현됩니다. NSE와 chromogranin A의 공발현은 신경내분비 종양에서 흔히 관찰됩니다.
NSE 항체는 신경세포체, 신경계 전구세포 및 신경내분비 세포의 표지에 유용하며, 손상된 신경세포에서 방출된 NSE는 신경 손상의 바이오마커로 활용됩니다.
임상적으로는 뇌졸중, 저산소성 뇌손상, 간질지속상태, Creutzfeldt-Jakob병, 단순헤르페스뇌염 등 다양한 신경계 질환에서 NSE가 민감한 표지자로 사용됩니다. 또한 소세포폐암 및 소아 신경모세포종 등 특정 신생물에서 혈장 내 NSE 농도가 상승합니다.
