Product Specific Information
- IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Napsin 1 is an aspartic protease predominantly expressed in the lung and kidney, as well as in metastatic carcinomas. It processes surfactant protein B in pulmonary and renal tissues but shows altered regulation in carcinogenesis.
Napsin evaluation is valuable in identifying various cancers and distinguishing primary tumors from metastases. Combined with thyroid transcription factor analysis, Napsin serves as a specific biomarker for carcinoma differentiation. It is also linked to pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and protein catabolism in renal tubules.
