Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Napsin 1 is an aspartic protease primarily expressed in lung tissue, and also found in kidney and metastatic carcinomas. It processes surfactant protein B in normal pulmonary and renal tissues but is dysregulated in carcinogenesis.
Napsin evaluation aids in identifying various cancers and distinguishing primary tumors from metastases. Combined with thyroid transcription factor analysis, Napsin serves as a specific biomarker for carcinoma differentiation. It is also associated with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis and protein catabolism in renal tubules.
