This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD45RA, a 205–220 kDa single-chain type I glycoprotein, variant of CD45 (CD45RA isoform).
CD45RA is expressed on most B lymphocytes, resting and native T lymphocytes, medullar thymocytes, and monocytes.
This antibody has been successfully used in Mass Cytometry (CyTof).
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): No pre-treatment of tissue sections is needed.
Target Information
CD45RA is an isoform of the CD45 complex and exhibits restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, constituting about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins.
CD45 glycoprotein plays a key role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases.
The CD45 isoforms differ in extracellular domains due to alternative splicing but share identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
These isoforms vary in membrane localization and expression depending on cell type and physiological state.
CD45 is essential for immunoreceptor signaling, cell survival via integrin-mediated pathways, and DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
It is expressed in cells of the human hematopoietic lineage (except mature red cells) and is absent in differentiated non-hematopoietic tissues.
Dysfunction of CD45 is associated with severe combined immunodeficiency and Hepatitis C.
