Target Information
DMRT1 gene is part of a cluster with two other family members sharing a zinc finger-like DNA-binding motif (DM domain).
The DM domain is a conserved component of the vertebrate sex-determining pathway and plays a crucial role in male development across species.
DMRT1 shows gonad-specific and sexually dimorphic expression.
Defects in this gene can lead to abnormal testicular development and XY feminization.
