Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only before immediate use.
- Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Mouse Serum.
- Reactivity observed against recombinant GFP (Aequorea victoria) by Western blot; no reactivity against RFP.
Target Information
The jellyfish Aequorea victoria produces green fluorescent protein (GFP Tag) that emits light during bioluminescence. GFP is widely used as a reporter for gene expression and protein localization in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems.
It is a 27 kDa monomeric protein that forms a fluorescent pigment autonomously, absorbing blue light (395 nm) and emitting green light (508 nm).
GFP fluorescence is stable and species-independent, suitable for applications such as protein localization, movement studies, FRET experiments, and yeast two-hybrid interaction assays.
