Product Specific Information

This antibody is directed against the 6X His motif and detects over-expressed proteins containing the 6X His epitope tag. It reacts with all His-tagged proteins tested and does not cross-react with endogenous bacterial proteins in western blotting. Recognizes His-tag (His-His-His-His-His-His) fused to either the amino- or carboxy-terminus of target proteins.
Target Information
The 6x His tag is a synthetic oligopeptide of six consecutive histidine residues (HHHHHH). Commonly used at N- or C-terminal regions of recombinant proteins for purification via immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC).
His-tagged proteins bind selectively to Ni²⁺-NTA resin, enabling efficient purification. His tag-specific antibodies facilitate detection and co-immunoprecipitation of tagged proteins.
