Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Heregulin beta-1. Anti-Human Heregulin beta-1-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Heregulin beta-1 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Heregulin beta-1 (500-P288) as a capture antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Heregulin beta-1.
Western Blot:
To detect Human Heregulin beta-1 by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human Heregulin beta-1 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Packaging:
500-P288BT-1MG will be provided as 2 × 500 µg.
Target Information
Direct ligand for ERBB3 and ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptors. Concomitantly recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 coreceptors, resulting in ligand-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors.
The multiple isoforms perform diverse functions such as:
- Inducing growth and differentiation of epithelial, glial, neuronal, and skeletal muscle cells
- Inducing expression of acetylcholine receptor during neuromuscular junction formation
- Stimulating lobuloalveolar budding and milk production in the mammary gland
- Inducing differentiation of mammary tumor cells
- Stimulating Schwann cell proliferation
- Involvement in myocardium development, including trabeculation of the developing heart
- Isoform 10 may play a role in motor and sensory neuron development
