Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-8 (CXCL8). Anti-Human IL-8 (CXCL8)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IL-8 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-8 (500-P28) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IL-8.

Western Blot:
To detect Human IL-8 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human IL-8 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin 8 (IL-8, CXCL8) is a 72 amino acid pro-inflammatory factor belonging to the CXC chemokine subfamily. It binds to cell surface receptors IL-8RA and IL-8RB and functions as a chemoattractant and angiogenic factor.
IL-8 expression and secretion are induced by inflammatory stimuli in many cell types, including macrophages and endothelial cells. In endothelial cells, IL-8 resides in Weibel-Palade bodies.
IL-8 signals through CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors and was previously known as NAP-1, GCP-1, MONAP, and protein 3-10C.
IL-8 and ten other CXC chemokines form a gene cluster on chromosome 4q.
Studies suggest IL-8 plays a role in tumor angiogenesis and viral bronchiolitis pathogenesis.
