Target Information
ALOXE3는 lipoxygenase family에 속하며, arachidonic acid 유래 화합물의 대사에 관여합니다. 이 효소는 12R-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid(12R-HPETE)로부터 독특한 epoxy alcohol(8R-hydroxy-11R,12R-epoxyeicosa-5Z,9E,14Z-trienoic acid)을 합성하는 hydroperoxide isomerase입니다. 이 epoxy alcohol은 PPARα 수용체를 활성화하여 피부 분화에 영향을 미칩니다. ALOXE3 유전자의 기능 상실은 ichthyosis와 관련이 있으며, 인간 피부 분화 과정에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 해당 유전자는 17p13.1에 위치한 lipoxygenase 유전자 클러스터의 일부이며, 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 transcript variants가 존재합니다.
