- Storage and Reconstitution:
Store the lyophilized protein at -20°C to -80°C for long-term storage.
Reconstitute to a concentration of 0.1–0.5 mg/mL in sterile distilled water.
After reconstitution, the protein solution is stable at -20°C for 3 months, and at 2–8°C for up to 1 week.
Target Information
Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) plays a central role in vascular, renal, and myocardial physiology.
Unlike its homolog ACE, ACE2 expression is restricted to the heart, kidney, and testis.
ACE2 has also been identified as a functional receptor for the SARS coronavirus.
Its normal function includes converting the inactive vasoconstrictor angiotensin I (AngI) to Ang1-9 and the active form AngII to Ang1-7.
Lack of ACE2 expression in ace2⁻/ace2⁻ mice leads to severely reduced cardiac contractility, highlighting its importance in heart function regulation.
