Product Specific Information

The RMP1-30 antibody reacts with mouse PD-1 (programmed death-1), a 55 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. PD-1 contains an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) and plays a key role in peripheral tolerance and autoimmune regulation in mice. PD-1 is mainly expressed on activated T and B lymphocytes.

Two B7 family ligands, PD-L1 (B7-H1) and PD-L2 (B7-DC), interact with PD-1. These ligands are constitutively expressed on some normal tissues and upregulated on activated antigen-presenting cells. RMP1-30 does not block the binding of B7-H1-Ig or B7-DC-Ig to PD-1.

Target Information

T-cell activation is regulated through PD-1 (PDCD-1), which delivers inhibitory signals upon binding to its ligands PD-L1 or PD-L2 on antigen-presenting cells. This interaction limits immune activation in the absence of danger signals such as LPS. PD-1-deficient mice exhibit hyperactive immune responses and autoimmune disease. Although PD-1 has a predicted molecular weight of 55 kDa, it often migrates at a higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
