Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The specific antibody DNA sequences are cloned from immunoreactive rabbits, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

Glutamate is the main excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. Traditionally, it was known to act on ligand-gated receptor channels such as NMDA, AMPA, and kainate receptors, which mediate fast excitatory synaptic transmission.
Recent findings show that glutamate also regulates enzymes producing second messengers via G-protein-coupled receptors known as metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs).

  • Group I receptors (mGluR1a, mGluR5): Stimulate phospholipase C, increasing phosphoinositide turnover and intracellular calcium release.
  • Group II and III receptors (mGluR2, mGluR3): Inhibit adenylyl cyclase activity.
