Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
The CD254 (RANK Ligand) gene encodes a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family, which is a ligand for osteoprotegerin and functions as a key factor for osteoclast differentiation and activation. It also acts as a dendritic cell survival factor and participates in T cell-dependent immune regulation.
T cell activation induces expression of this gene, leading to increased osteoclastogenesis and bone loss. This protein activates antiapoptotic kinase AKT/PKB via a signaling complex involving SRC kinase and TRAF6, suggesting a role in apoptosis regulation.
Targeted disruption of the related gene in mice results in severe osteopetrosis and absence of osteoclasts. Deficient mice exhibit defects in early T and B lymphocyte differentiation and fail to form lobulo-alveolar mammary structures during pregnancy. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
