A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-45909 was sufficient for detection of Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Superfamily, Member 18 in 15 µg of Mouse Skeletal Muscle by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects 25 kDa.
Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 18 (TNFRSF18), also called GITR or AITR, is a protein encoded by the TNFRSF18 gene in humans (mapped to 1p36.33).
This gene encodes a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. The receptor shows increased expression upon T-cell activation and plays a key role in dominant immunological self-tolerance maintained by CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells.
Knockout studies in mice suggest its role in the regulation of CD3-driven T-cell activation and programmed cell death. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
