Target Information

CREB (Cyclic AMP response element binding protein)은 43 kDa의 basic/leucine zipper 전사인자로, cyclic AMP response element (CRE)에 결합하여 신경전달물질, 호르몬, 막 탈분극, 성장 및 신경영양 인자 등 다양한 세포 외 신호에 반응해 전사를 활성화합니다.
CREB의 활성화는 serine 133의 인산화에 의존하며, p44/42 MAP kinase, p90RSK, p38 MAP kinase, MSK1 경로를 통해 인산화됩니다.
CREB는 인산화 상태와 무관하게 DNA에 결합할 수 있지만, 인산화된 형태만이 전사인자로서 기능합니다. CREB binding protein (CBP)은 serine 133 부위에서 CREB와 직접 상호작용하는 전사 공동활성화 인자입니다.
CREB는 일주기 리듬 동기화, 지방세포 분화, 학습 및 기억 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. 인간에서는 2번 염색체 q arm에 위치하며, CREB 기능 이상은 알츠하이머병, 조직구종, 연부조직 흑색종 등과 관련이 있습니다.
