Product Specific Information

Mouse anti-Human Siglec-7 antibody, clone S7.7 recognizes human Sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 7 (CD328), a putative adhesion molecule and member of the Ig superfamily. It is predominantly expressed by both resting and activated natural killer (NK) cells, and also at lower levels by monocytes, granulocytes, monocyte-derived macrophages, dendritic cells, and a small population of CD8+ memory T cells.

Target Information

Siglec-7 is a putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic acid-dependent binding to cells. It preferentially binds to α2,3- and α2,6-linked sialic acid and disialogangliosides. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. In immune response, it may act as an inhibitory receptor upon ligand-induced tyrosine phosphorylation by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatases that block signal transduction. It mediates inhibition of NK cell cytotoxicity and may play a role in hematopoiesis by inhibiting differentiation of CD34+ precursors toward myelomonocytic lineage and proliferation of leukemic myeloid cells (in vitro).
