Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes human EMR1 (EGF-like module containing, mucin-like, hormone receptor-like 1). EMR1 is a seven-span transmembrane protein belonging to the EGF-TM7 receptor family. The detailed structure and function of EMR1 remain largely unknown.
Reconstitution: Add 1.0 mL distilled water before use.
Target Information
F4/80 antigen is a 160 kDa cell surface glycoprotein, part of the EGF-TM7 family, sharing 68% amino acid identity with human EMR1. Expression varies during macrophage maturation and activation. It is expressed on various mature tissue macrophages including Kupffer cells, Langerhans cells, microglia, and macrophages in the gut, peritoneal cavity, lung, thymus, bone marrow, and spleen red pulp.
Some dendritic cells express F4/80, but it is absent in macrophages of T cell areas in spleen and lymph nodes. Although its ligands and biological functions are not fully determined, studies suggest F4/80 plays a role in generating efferent CD8⁺ regulatory T cells.
