Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Axin-related protein AXIN2 plays an important role in regulating beta-catenin stability in the Wnt signaling pathway, similar to its rodent homologs (mouse conductin/rat axil). In mouse, conductin organizes a multiprotein complex of APC, beta-catenin, glycogen synthase kinase 3-beta, and conductin, leading to beta-catenin degradation. Deregulation of beta-catenin is linked to the genesis of various malignancies. The AXIN2 gene is mapped to 17q23-q24, a region showing frequent loss of heterozygosity in breast cancer, neuroblastoma, and other tumors. Mutations in this gene are associated with colorectal cancer with defective mismatch repair.
