Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
This gene encodes a hematopoietin/interferon-class receptor belonging to the cytokine superfamily. The encoded gene product represents the CNTF-specific alpha subunit of a heterotrimer forming the CNTF receptor complex, which includes LIFR and gp130. The receptor is attached to the membrane via a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol linkage and contains immunoglobulin-like C2-type and fibronectin type-III domains. Signal transduction occurs when CNTF binds to this alpha component, recruiting gp130 and LIFR beta to form the tripartite receptor complex. This process stimulates gene expression, cell survival, or differentiation in various neuronal cell types. Alternative splicing has been observed, producing two variants encoding the same protein.
