The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the endothelin family, which includes endothelium-derived vasoactive peptides involved in various biological functions. The active form of this protein is a 21-amino-acid peptide processed from the precursor protein and acts as a ligand for endothelin receptor type B (EDNRB). This interaction is crucial for the development of neural crest-derived cell lineages such as melanocytes and enteric neurons. Mutations in this gene and in EDNRB are associated with Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) and Waardenburg syndrome (WS), both congenital disorders involving neural crest-derived cells. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding three distinct isoforms have been observed.
