• Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL double distilled water (DDW) depending on sample size.
• Ships as lyophilized powder at room temperature; store at -20°C upon arrival.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

Organic cation transporters (OCTs) are plasma membrane proteins expressed in epithelial cells across various tissues. They facilitate the elimination of endogenous amines, cationic drugs, and xenobiotics. OCTs have a 12-transmembrane domain structure and a large extracellular hydrophilic loop.

• OCT1: Primarily expressed in liver
• OCT2 (SLC22A2): Expressed in kidney, localizing to basolateral and luminal membranes of distal and proximal tubules
• OCT3: Expressed in placenta, skeletal muscle, prostate, aorta, and liver

OCT2 mediates pH-sensitive tubular uptake of organic compounds from circulation. An additional splice variant, OCT2-A, also exists.
