Target Information
Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase (PARP) uses NAD (oxidized form) as a substrate to catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose to nuclear protein acceptors. Proteolysis of PARP into its stable 85 kDa fragment is an early marker of apoptosis, mediated by caspase CPP32. Cleavage occurs between Asp216 and Gly217, a conserved site across species.
