Product Specific Information
The TEK4 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Tie-2 (CD202). Tie-2 is a tyrosine kinase receptor expressed on endothelial and certain hematopoietic cells, involved in angiogenesis and hematopoiesis during embryonic development.
In fetal liver and adult bone marrow, Tie-2 is expressed by a subpopulation of hematopoietic progenitor cells characterized as Lineage^-, c-Kit^+, Sca1^+ cells. Long-term multilineage repopulating cells were detected in Tie-2^+, Lineage^-, c-Kit^+, Sca1^+ cells but not in Tie-2^- cells.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of bEnd3 cell line. Recommended ≤ 0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume).
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 660 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Target Information
The TEK receptor tyrosine kinase is expressed primarily in endothelial cells and is essential for endothelial cell–smooth muscle communication in venous morphogenesis. Mutations in TEK are associated with inherited venous malformations.
The ligand angiopoietin-1 binds TEK and regulates embryonic vascular development. TIE2 expression increases with thyroid-stimulating hormone and cAMP elevation.
HSCs expressing TIE2 are quiescent and anti-apoptotic, forming a side population adhering to osteoblasts in the bone marrow niche.
