탄저균(Bacillus anthracis) 독소는 보호 항원(Protective Antigen, PA), 부종 인자(Edema Factor, EF), 치사 인자(Lethal Factor, LF)로 구성된 세 가지 단백질 복합체입니다.
이 독소는 세포 내로 흡수되어 효소 성분이 세포질로 이동하며, 면역세포의 신호 전달 및 이동 기능을 방해하고 세포 용해를 유도할 수 있습니다.
이러한 작용을 통해 세균은 숙주의 면역체계를 회피하고 증식하여 숙주를 사멸시킬 수 있습니다.
