The monoclonal antibody 11A8.7.4 reacts to DNAM-1, also known as CD226.
DNAM-1 is a 65 kDa receptor expressed by peripheral blood T lymphocytes and is involved in:

• Intercellular adhesion
• Lymphocyte signaling
• Cytotoxicity
• Lymphokine secretion mediated by cytotoxic T lymphocytes

DNAM-1 is broadly expressed on T cells, NK cells, platelets, monocytes, and a subset of B cells, and also by a subset of CD3-positive thymocytes.
Its ligands include poliovirus receptor (PVR, CD155) and Poliovirus Related Receptor (PPR2, Nectin-2, CD112).
CD226 participates in cytolytic activity through interaction with integrins and activation of protein tyrosine kinase Fyn.

The 11A8.7.4 antibody has been shown to increase T and NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity.
